City Parochial Foundation

Purpose

The aim of the Foundation is to tackle the causes of poverty and to help poor Londoners who are experiencing discrimination, isolation or violence.

Available Funding/Support

Open Programme - There is no minimum or maximum size of grant and the amount requested should be the amount made.  However, the average grant is likely to be about £45,000 in total, although a significant number of grants will be smaller (£5,000 to £30,000) while a few will be larger (more than £70,000).

What they will Fund

Priorities for funding under the Open Programme are projects which:

  • improve employment opportunities for disadvantaged people;
  • promote the inclusion of recent arrivals to the UK;
  • promote social justice;
  • Strengthen the voluntary and community sector.

Who can Apply

Any organisation applying for funding should be a registered charity (or have applied for charitable status), an Industrial and Provident Society or a Friendly Society.

Applications are particularly welcomed from organisations working with Asian and Black Minority Ethnic (BME) communities, disabled people, established communities, often predominantly white, in areas of long-term poverty, lesbians and gay men, refugees and asylum seekers, young people aged 10-25 and women’s organisations.

How to Apply

There are three closing dates for proposals to be submitted by.  They are:

  • 7 February for the June Grants Committee;
  • 30 May for the October Grants Committee;
  • 25 October for the March Grants Committee.

Applicants may submit their proposal at any time but it will only be assessed once the next closing date has passed.  For example, if an application is submitted in January, it will be considered with others received up to 7 February for the June Grants Committee meeting.  If successful in securing funding, the whole process will take approximately four and a half months from the closing date for proposals to the Grants Committee meeting.
