Library Outreach Services

Newham’s Community Outreach Team consists of two services the Mobile library and  the Home Round Service both are available to all residents who are unable to visit one of our 10 static library sites. This may be due to a residents’ mobility; an inability to carry library materials due to frailty or other difficulties; and / or mental, physical or sensory disabilities.

This Service is FREE and the Team can provide fiction and non-fiction titles, local history books, special interest newspapers (e.g. Jang, Mature Times and the Pink Paper), journals and magazines. Audiovisual materials and books in other community languages are also available. In addition reading support materials such as magnifiers and CD players can be provided.

The Service is available Monday to Friday, 10:00am to 4:00pm and aims to provide residents with the chance to access library materials on a regular basis. Service users would be visited once every three weeks at a mutual agreeable time and date (within the above days and times) with a bulk loan of your service users’ preferences where they will be able to use these items if and when desired.

If you have any contacts of groups who you think may benefit from our Service please contact Georgina Drummond or pass on her details via the telephone on: (020) 8568 6541, or via e-mail on: georgina.drummond@newham.gov.uk.
