Call for Proposals – European Refugee Fund (UK)

The European Commission has launched the latest call for proposals under its European Refugee Fund 2008 – 2013. The objective of the European Refugee Fund is to support and encourage the efforts made by the Member States in receiving, and in bearing the consequences of receiving. The type of actions that can be supported under this call for proposals include amongst others the exchange of best practice and information, including on training, between national asylum authorities on the implementation of Community legislation in the field of asylum.

A total of €9.18 million is available to national, regional and local authorities, universities (including research institutions), and non-governmental organisations, registered in one of the 26 Member States participating in the European Refugee Fund, as well as International organisations, working on a strictly non-profit basis, with proven experience and expertise to meet the priorities of the 2009 European Refugee Fund work programme.

The maximum grant per project is fixed at € 2 million if the applicant is a National Authority or the UNHCR and at € 500,000 for other applicants. The minimum amount is fixed at € 200,000 for any applicant.

The closing date for applications is the 30th November 2009.
