Comic Relief’s Older People’s Programme aims to support people aged 65 and older in the UK to bring positive change to their communities.

Letters of interest are invited from community groups and organisations where older people are developing ideas for action using a variety of approaches including:

development of social enterprises;
forums for older people;
local community activities; and
campaigning.

Comic Relief particularly welcomes applications which address the needs of those who experience the greatest levels of isolation and exclusion, such as:

Black and minority ethnic elders;
frail older people;
older people with mental health needs;
older carers; and
those on lower incomes.

Grants of between £15,000 and £40,000 are available for up to three years and applicants must be able to demonstrate the active engagement of older people in the development and delivery of the work.

The deadline for receipt of letters of interest is 11 January 2010 (5 pm).
