BFWG Charitable Foundation

The Foundation provides assistance to women graduates engaged in postgraduate study or research at approved institutions of higher education in Great Britain. Its aim is to promote women’s opportunities in education and public life.

Funding support is offered under the following three programmes:

Foundation grants to help women graduates, from Great Britain or overseas, with their living expenses while registered for study or research at an approved institution of higher education in Great Britain. The amount awarded will not exceed £4,000.
Emergency Grants to graduate women, from Great Britain or overseas, who face an unforeseeable financial crisis whilst engaged in study or research at institutions of higher education in Great Britain. Grants are not likely to exceed £1,500.

Theodora Bosanquet Bursary, which is offered annually to women postgraduates, from Great Britain or overseas, whose research in History or English Literature requires a short residence in London in the summer. It provides accommodation in a hall of residence for up to 4 weeks between mid June and mid September.

The deadline for Foundation grants is 3 March 2010. The first of three 2010 deadlines for Emergency grants is 10 February 2010. The deadline for the Theodora Bosanquet Bursary is 31 October 2010.
