Calling all Community Cafés!

Newham Council, in partnership with Newham Food Access Partnership and Transform Newham, is working to form a network of community cafes in the borough. The broad aim of the network will be to develop, support and promote the community cafes in Newham in a number of ways including email updates of useful information; access to training for staff and volunteers; look into possible joint ordering initiatives and other cost saving measures.

A community café is a café that is run principally for community benefit. The profits from which are reinvested in the business, or activities that provide community benefit. Community cafés may exist as part of another organisation, such as a Church or community centre, or have a stand alone legal structure. They may have paid staff, or be staffed by volunteers.
