Shelter To Open Housing Advice Surgery in Newham, Tower Hamlets and Hackney

Shelter are opening three new outreach housing advice surgeries for private rented sector clients who live in Newham, Hackney and Tower Hamlets.

Clients can get specialist free and confidential housing advice on a wide range of housing problems eg, disrepair, possession, harassment etc.

Members of the public cannot directly refer themselves but Shelter would like local community and faith agencies to refer clients for an appointment by ringing them to make one.

Clients must be private rented (this can include a shared house, lodger, sub-tenant, staying with friends and family) and live in either Newham, Hackney or Tower Hamlets. As long as they fit these two criteria, Shelter offers advice regardless of the individual’s financial or immigration status.

If you would like some posters to display in your offices, or some leaflets to hand to clients, or some appointment reminder cards – or simply more information on the service – then please feel free to email: justine_wharton@shelter.org.uk
