Launch of ELBA’s new initiative: Transformers
The London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic bid was won on a promise of a legacy of regeneration for east London and the difference it would make to local communities. In order to make this vision a reality we are delighted that the Olympic Lottery Distributor has agreed to fund the Transformers grants programme that will be managed by ELBA.
Transformers is targeted at communities in the five Olympic Host Boroughs and the programme will fund projects for up to two years. The application process opens on 3 September 2010 and the programme will close in December 2012 with no costs covered beyond this period. Grants are available for between £10,000 and £20,000 per annum.
Transformers will only fund projects that are delivered in Hackney, Tower Hamlets, Newham, Waltham Forest and Greenwich. Applicants will need to prove a strong track record in delivering projects in these boroughs. Successful applicants should be established organisations with a track record of delivery and community engagement – enabling the programme to “invest in success”.
