Survey – The Impact of Cuts in Newham
With the government about to announce enormous cuts in spending on Wednesday, organisations that are part of the Newham Capacity Builders Working Group have decided to conduct an online survey of the impact of cuts – both in the current year and expected from April 2011 – on voluntary and community groups in Newham.

Newham Economic Development Strategy
The Economic Development Strategy (EDS) for Newham was recently approved by Cabinet.
The Strategy sets out Newham Council’s vision for the economic prosperity of the borough and provides a framework for the Council, in collaboration with partners, to deliver a range of economic development and regeneration initiatives to achieve our vision.
The Strategy focuses on three main aims:
• Creating the conditions to attract investment
• Building a stronger business base; and
• Providing residents with the skills, training and opportunities to gain jobs in Newham and elsewhere in London
