The programme will provide grants to 200 volunteers over the four-year period of the scheme, with each successful applicant receiving up to £500 to cover their costs.</p>

<p>BTEG will be hosting a national event for local BME Forums and Networks to gather and exchange good practices. We are particularly interested in attracting chairs and lead representatives of forums from our three target regions: London, East Midlands and the North East as well as representatives of LSPs that currently support BME Forums. </p>
<p>The event is about strengthening local BME Forums so that they can have a positive impact and influence on their LSP. The focus of the day will be learning and networking with Jeremy Crook OBE, Director of BTEG, chairing. The agenda will cover key issues such as the purpose and support needs of BME Forums particularly how we can work towards ensuring the sustainability of local BME Forums. Nero Ughwujabo, the Director of the Croydon BME Forum will highlight the role of Croydon BME Forum in successfully accessing local funding and provide a template for how in Croydon they have brought BME organisations together to network and learn from each other. </p>

<p>The training, which has received excellent feedback, builds on the findings and recommendations of the <strong><a href="http://www.rota.org.uk/pages/RRP.aspx">Restoring Relationships Project</a></strong>. It draws attention to the dynamics of hate crime, the role of mediation, and the value of restorative justice and multi agency, cross sector partnerships.</p>
<p>This training will be useful for people working in the fields of: conflict resolution; community tensions; domestic and sexual violence; housing, school and work disputes; including criminal justice agencies, safer neighbourhood teams, and hate crime coordinators.</p>
<p>Places are limited and will be free of charge to small third sector organisations with fewer than 10 members of staff (with a holding payment of £25 which will be reimbursed on attendance). Statutory and private sector organisations will be charged a non refundable fee of £65. Training material, certificate of attendance, lunch and refreshments are all included.</p>
