Grassroots Grants

We are delighted to announce the Newham Voluntary Sector Consortium will be administering grassroots grants, from September 2008 to March 2011.

Grassroots Grants is a three year grants programme that is intended to benefit small voluntary and community groups. The funding is provided by the Office of the Third Sector and is being managed nationally by the Community Development Foundation.

Small community groups with a turnover of less than £20,000 a year can access up to £5,000 for their community projects. However, groups must have been constituted since July 2006 or before.

How to apply

Got a great project idea but no funding. Read on:

  • Is your group a not-for-profit, voluntary, community or faith group, active in Newham since 2006?
  • Do you have an income of less than £20,000 per annum?
  • Is your group constituted?
  • Is your group volunteer led (i.e. run with largely volunteer based input)?
  • Is your group connected with and/or meeting the needs of the local community?

If you have answered Yes to all 5 questions, you could be eligible for a Grassroots grant.

Please contact NVSC for a Grassroots Grant Application form and guidance.
